| SHARP TONGUE Definition: (disapproving) If you say somebody has a sharp tongue you are critical of the fact that they say things which are unkind though often clever. ______________________________________________________________________ * All five elements should be in. 1. Person being criticized does not tell a lie or half-truth or white lie or prevaricate. 2. Does not delay talk or speak reluctantly. That is, responds as soon as considered necessary, even if utterance is not immediate. 3. Person who talks smartly holds nothing back (to emphasize.) That is, he or she will spew out all that is on his or her mind. 4. Never ever gets physical, especially if replied in kind. That is, person will be able to bear unkind words uttered to him/her in return. 5.
