Sense of loss
SENSE OF LOSS

Definition: The feeling of having lost someone or something very important.

1. Purposeful and necessary to have feeling or express emotion.

2. Possessed or displayed at the right time, soon or immediately after the sure loss (death) or 'destruction' (disappearance).

3. It will be believed, while in the situation, that something could have been done to prevent or delay the event responsible for condition.

4. What will be felt and shown will be measurable and/or assessable.

5. There will be a certainty that who or what is lost cannot return or be regained.

6. Lasts or continues for a considerable but tolerable period of time.

7. Consequences or end result of loss will be undesirable, even if this outcome is only in the short-term; usually overwhelming.

8. Serves purpose(s), whatever lesson is learned therefrom and whether or not a closure is brought to sadness or misery.
