| SELF-IMPROVEMENT Definition: The process by which a person improves their knowledge, status, character, etc. by their own efforts. ______________________________________________________________________ * All five stages would be in process. Stage A. a. Purpose(s) is/are known. That is, a need or an intention to improve is established. b. Necessary in your opinion to be better. That is, you have a justification. c. Decision is taken to progress through self-help (see definition). d. You have the wherewithal necessary to make progress - skill, materials, finances, qualification, etc. Stage B. a. Goal(s) or target(s) is/are known from the beginning and/or at any point in time. b. There is an awareness on your part of what is needed to be done. c. Efforts being made are with fully owned abilities which are appropriately directed. d. You do continuous assessment and analysis of your efforts. Stage C. a. Burden or loss/losses in the process are borne by only you, not shared with another or others. b. Mistakes, errors, etc. in the process are corrected by you, even if these are discovered by others. c. You do not compete with or compare yourself to others ! d. Stage D. a. Stay on the course - however difficult it seems. That is, keep persevering. b. Listen not to and hear no discouragement, derision, etc. c. Do not count your chickens before they are hatched ! d. Stage E. a. Reach target(s), eventually, at the time/period hoped for. b. Increase serves purpose(s), as exactly planned by you. c.
