| SAFE AREA Definition: If part of a country that is involved in a war is declared to be a safe area, neutral forces will try to keep peace there so that it is safe for people. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to have area marked out. 2. The authority that issues a declaration will be legal. 3. Administration of area will be in the hand of 'independents'. 4. The peacekeepers will be adequately equipped and/or empowered. 5. Entrance to and exit from place will ordinarily be guaranteed. 6. Ambience of place will be comfortable for the inhabitants. That is, some measure of freedom and liberty will exist in the vicinity. In other words, will be convenient for residents to live and work in. 7. Remains secured and protected for whatever the duration desired. 8.
