| SABBATH (2) Definitions: i. (often - the Sabbath) (in Judaism and Christianity) The holy day of the week that is used for resting and worshipping God. For Jews, this day is Saturday and for Christians it is Sunday. ii. The day of the week when members of some religions do not work. The Jewish Sabbath is Saturday and the Christian Sabbath is Sunday. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, whether or not appreciated. 2. Choice has an authority in a religious law. That is, rest and no work can be defended by faith-based orders. 3. There will be no receipt, on this day, of a payment for work that will be done in the future. 4. Worship takes the better part or whole of the day. (To emphasize.) 5. Rest, on this day, will be total, full. That is, there would be no thoughts about or planning for the following working day's task(s). 6. What is learned during worship is remembered and makes a positive impact and/or energy gained from rest is used productively in the days after. That is, the working Sunday (after Saturday, for the Jew) or the Monday (after Sunday, for the Christian), will produce from the man, the best results possible, arising from a full relaxation of the body and communion with the heavenly Father.
