| RUN (12) Definition: (North American English) An act of trying to get elected to public office. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (connect to #2). 2. With the best of intentions - to serve sincerely, lead honestly, represent creditably, etc. 3. Nomination, selection, etc. was transparent, and in accordance with the extant rules and regulations, even if the person is an independent candidate. 4. Conduct, that is, mobilization, campaign, etc. throughout the period is superb - no name-calling, decamping, shenanigans, etc. 5. The person runs an issues-based campaign and does not 'heat up' the polity. 6.
