| ROUGH (1) Definition: (in golf) (usually - the rough) The part of a golf course where the grass is long, making it more difficult to hit the ball. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful, and necessary (?), whatever length of grass. 2. Length of grass does not prevent the ball from being easily seen. 3. Grass type does not ordinarily disturb a 'clean' hit of the ball. 4. Area with grass has no major foreign object(s) such as a stone, log, sand, etc. 5. Grass is natural!. That is, obstacle was not temporarily 'planted'. 6. (Reserved.) (Area is avoided by golfer.
