| ROTTEN APPLE Definitions: i. (idiomatic - a rotten apple) One bad person who has a bad effect on others in a group. ii. A person who is dishonest and therefore causes a lot of problems for the group or organization they belong to. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Person has a purpose - not a justification - and considers it necessary to be the only bad one within the group. 2. Never gets an encouragement or support from the others in group. That is, every other person in group is on the 'straight and narrow' path - is being honest, hardworking, persevering, etc. 3. Not possible to get rid of or to ostracize bad influence. That is, stay or presence of bad person in group or organization is guaranteed for as long as group remains an entity. 4. Brings unquantifiable loss - of goodwill, reputation, prospects, respect, etc. - and disgrace, to the others in group or organization. 5. A sanction or punishment, penalty or fine, warning or caution, etc., where possible, will have no salutary effect on bad guy. 6. Baddy achieves negative goal(s), however long it takes and whatever it costs him or her (connect to #5). 7. Not possible to completely reform bad person. And 'stale' or 'decayed' apple cannot have a change of heart later, such that it will be possible for him/her to genuinely rise to the top of the leadership of group or organization. _______________________________________ See perfect REPEAT OFFENDER. | |
