| ROGUE TRADER Definition: (business) An employee of a financial institution who carries out business without the knowledge or approval of his or her boss. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Has a purpose and considers method a necessity. 2. Usually very qualified for, and confident in, the post held. 3. Would not normally have an accomplice or a collaborator. 4. Trusted and believed efficient, just before the bubble bursts. And, therefore, smart 'thief' never expects to be found out or caught. 5. Makes plans to escape with loot. That is, has an arrangement in place to first deny crime, then to defend act, prevent capture, etc. In other words, financial benefit for bad employee, will be envisaged in situation. 6. Job performance, without a notification of, or an authorization by, the boss, will result in employer suffering enormous losses, when a fraud succeeds. 7. On discovery of mismanagement, 'thief' will not escape being declared wanted, facing a sanction, an arrest and prosecution, and imprisonment. 8.
