| ROAD RAGE Definition: A situation in which a driver becomes extremely angry or violent with the driver of another car because of the way they are driving. ______________________________________________________________________ * All fifteen elements would be in. 1. Purposeful - to show disappointment. 2. Considered necessary, by the angry party, to express displeasure/frustration. 3. Angry driver did not, in the first instance, cause problem (= bad driving) for the other 'bad driver(s)'. 4. 'Bad driving' was not as a result of a serious emergency or a faulty car (to emphasize). 5. Angry person demanded no explanation, before 'explosion'. (And no explanation or apology was offered.) 6. None of the two or more cars being driven is damaged, whether the traffic is moving, 'crawling' or stationary. 7. Disappointment was not initially expected to 'boil over'. That is, anger was not planned to be extreme. In other words, 'madness' was not deliberate. 8. Lasts for an unnecessarily long period of time. That is, valuable time is wasted quarelling and/or fighting. 9. Violence, if applicable, does not lead to a wound or a life-threatening injury or fatality! 10. There is a loss in the situation - of resources, energy, time, composure, reputation, information, etc. 11. Other sensible driver(s), if any, are not inconvenienced by temporary 'insanity'. That is, others are able to drive on. 12. Intervention or attempted involvement aimed at resolving the needless 'dispute' would be unsuccessful. 13. Police, traffic official(s), etc. do not get involved, at least not on time. (Connect to #12.) 14. Driver that anger is directed at does not respond or retaliate (to emphasize, connect to #9). 15.
