| RISK (4) Definition: [ a good/bad/poor ~ ] A person or business that a bank or an insurance company is willing/unwilling to lend money or sell insurance to because they are likely/unlikely to pay back the money, etc. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Person or business is measurable and/or assessable. That is, there is a 'performance rating' available on which judgment is based. 2. Person or business can/cannot provide a 'collateral'. That is, subject is specific and identifiable - can be uninsured or insured or re-insured, as needed. 3. There is an opportunity in the person or business. (If good, easy to see/notice; if bad/poor, difficult to discover/recognize.) 4. Advantage/disadvantage in person or business is one that will increase/reduce over time, not one that will decrease/increase with each passing hour ! 5. Gain, profit, advantage, etc. will be worthwhile if and when a 'gamble'/'lottery' pays off. (To emphasize.) 6. Loss or losses that is/are probable, will be minimal and/or be bearable at the end, if applicable. 7. Only hope/hopelessness and possibilities/impossibilities are seen in the situation.
