| REVIEWER (1) Definition: A person who writes reviews of books, films/movies or plays. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Has a purpose and considers task a necessity (to emphasize). 2. Person has read the whole of the particular book or viewed the whole film/movie or watched the full, complete play, with the right cast. (To emphasize.) 3. Person is qualified to assess book, etc. That is, has some education, experience, etc. to be able to express an opinion or make an informed judgment. 4. What person writes is readable, understandable and reasonable, whether it makes sense or not to author, actor, scriptwriter, etc.! 5. Can defend the opinions expressed. That is, remarks, comments, etc. are all his or her convictions, not based on the influence or bias of another commentator. (Even if 'work' is a condemnation!) 6. Gets it (= writings, speech, etc.) published, broadcast, etc. 7. Writer serves purpose(s) or achieves goal(s). _______________ CRITICAL ..., BUT NEVER GETS BOOED. | |
