| RETROSPECTIVE Definition: A public exhibition of the work that an artist has done in the past, showing how his or her work has developed. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (connect to #2). 2. Considered necessary to exhibit work. 3. Works are solo efforts, not those done in collaboration with other artist(s). (To emphasize.) ________________________ SCULPTURES/CARVINGS..., 4. Display is of the complete set of work done. 5. Each work is dated and with a narrative, write-up, etc. 6. Arrangement, positioning, placement, etc. of the various works are sequential or in correct order of production. ____________________________ WRITINGS/RECORDINGS, 7. Works are in a preserved and/or presentable state. That is, what is shown to be public can be seen, studied, etc. 8. Exhibition achieves objective(s). That is, public display serves some useful purpose(s). 9. Work of art or 'trash works' are protected and safe during the period of open show.
