| RESECTION Definition: (medical) The act of cutting out part of an organ or a piece of tissue from the body. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. What is cut is the right part of organ or the correct amount of tissue (connect to #4). 4. (Reserved.) (If part or piece is for a transplant, it is not rejected by new recipient's body part or organ.) 5. No injury to cutter or damage to instrument, as a direct result of the cutting. 6. No negative fallout such as a sore, abscess, infection, etc. results from the act. 7. No regret(s) later, especially by whose organ or tissue is cut. 8. Cut is effectively and efficiently, that is, professionally done. 9.
