| REPARATION (1) Definition: (formal) Money that is paid by a country that has lost a war, for the damage, injuries, etc. that it has caused. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, for the recipients! 2. Legal, that is, 'punishment' is allowed in international law. 3. Amount is independently assessed - not by a country or group of countries that participated in the war. 4. (Reserved.)
