Definitions:

i. Time that is spent practising a play or piece of music in preparation for a public performance.

ii. A practice (a play, etc.) before performing it for an audience.

iii. A trial performance.

1. Purposeful and necessary (see definition).

2. With all those who, and with all things (animals, equipment etc., as applicable) that will participate in the actual performance, participating fully.

3. Practice takes place at the venue of the actual performance. Or the setting is almost as the real stage that event will take place.

4. 'Mock' or practice goes or went well, problem-free. That is, practice was/were supervised excellently.

5. Has a provision for review and/or criticism, necessitating where necessary, a repeat performance, of parts or the whole, again.

6. If time is for a final practice, provision is made for adequate or enough rest period before actual performance.
