| REGULATOR (1) Definition: A person or an organization that officially controls an area of business or industry and makes sure that it is operating fairly. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (see definition). 2. Necessary to maintain fairness in the business or industry. 3. Person or organization is qualified, recognized and accepted and knows the right controls to exercise. That is, knows and/or recognizes fairness or unfairness when he/she/it sees one. 4. Funding or cost of administration or operations is not borne by those being regulated. (To emphasize.) 5. Person or organization has no vested interests in the participants or operators in the industry. 6. Powers possessed are backed by the law. 7. Performs duties effectively and efficiently. 8. Does not make any change(s) to extant rules and regulations in attempt to enforce compliance. 9.
