| REFLECTED GLORY Definition: (disapproving) Admiration or praise that is given to somebody, not because of something that they have done, but because of something that somebody connected with them has done. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful for who gives admiration or praise. 2. Necessity on the part of person offering admiration or praise to pass commendation to and/or through a 'third' party. 3. Basis for praise is genuine. That is, accomplishment is confirmed as truly achieved. 4. Recipient of admiration contributed to the success of achiever. 5. Person accepted praise fully, not necessarily fulsomely. 6. Recipient is not envious of achiever (connect to #5 & #8). 7. Measure of admiration or praise is adequate, not excessive as if recipient was mainly responsible for what was achieved. 8. Admiration or praise is passed on as 'information only' to the real achiever. (Connect to #9.) 9.
