Reconciliation (1)
RECONCILIATION (1)

Definition: [ ~ (between A and B) / ~ (with somebody) ] An end to a disagreement and the start of a good relationship again.
______________________________________________________________________

* All nine elements should be in.

1. Purposeful and necessary for former 'enemies' to make up.

2. End is real. That is, matter is finally and truly buried. In other words, no unresolved, hidden or undeclared issue(s) after alleged closure is attained.

3. No term or condition to fulfill in the future as a part of the bargain or conclusion (= settlement of disagreement) (connect to #2, to emphasize).

4. No side or party to disagreement is declared as or assumed to be winner (innocent) or loser (guilty). Or if there is a 'ruling' of a victor and the vanquished, this is accepted, by especially, the loser and never rubbed in by winner! (To emphasize.)

* WORK AT IT !

5. Resumption of close relationship is not coerced. That is, being friendly again, happens at its own time, voluntarily and naturally.

6. Restart and growth of friendship is progressively and steadily gradual, till it will get to its former level.

7. Issue(s) that led to problem(s) (= disagreement(s)) and the manner in which it/they was/were resolved is/are not referred to or mentioned in a future conversation/discussion between the former allies, later-turned 'fighters'.

8. End and start are 'inseparable'; has no long break in-between. That is, discussions to reconcile the parties at 'war' are concluded quickly.

9. Happening serves purpose(s) or achieves objective(s) as exactly hoped for. That is, progress, peace or peacefulness, development, etc., will be attained - until the next disagreement! Or it helps to avoid a repeat of past error(s).

Quote: "Reconciliation is the physical demonstration that God is at work in the world. Any fool can put people at odds. Only God - one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and father of all - can bring those opposed to one another together as sisters and brothers. When we lose reconciliation, we lose the purposes of Jesus". - Sean Palmer.

Quotation: "The past...another country. The way its stories are told and the way they are heard change as the years go by. The spotlight gyrates exposing old lies and illuminating new truths". - Most Rev. Desmond Tutu.

Quotable quote: "Reconciliation should be accompanied by justice, otherwise it will not last. While we all hope for peace, it shouldn't be peace at any cost but peace based on principle, on justice". - Corazon Aquino.
