| RECKONING (1) Definition: The act of calculating something, especially in a way that is not very exact. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful (?) - to be inexact (connect to #2). 2. Justifiable or necessary. That is, there will be a reason for being somewhat 'inaccurate' - time constraints, dearth of appropriate data, etc. In other words, not deliberately wished to be inexact. 3. Exactitude is not a requirement - not a demand or request - in the situation or circumstance. That is, method is not illegal or against any rule/regulation. 4. There was a methodology adopted - collation, a guesstimate or manipulation, etc. - before an 'answer' was arrived at. That is, person is ordinarily able to get the sums right, but ... 5. Approximate answer is close to what the correct and exact answer would have been. 6. Calculation is never written down or done with an electronic gadget or equipment. That is, method adopted to arrive at an answer will usually be offhanded. (To emphasize.) 7. Act achieves objective(s) or serves purpose(s). 8. No regret(s) from the result of the 'calculation'.
