| RECAPITULATION (1) Definition: The act or process of repeating or giving a summary of what has already been said, decided, etc. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Purposeful for who restates details. 2. Considered a necessity in the opinion of speaker and/or audience to give a recap. _____________ 3. Stated before start that it is a repetition, before it is gone over again. 4. Methodical, systematic. That is, points are listed in the order or format of the main talk/lecture/discussion. ________________________ 'LET ME REITERATE ...'. 5. Nothing new, however important the speaker thinks this is, is added or introduced at this stage. (To emphasize, see definition.) 6. No major point is removed or excluded (connect to #5). _____________ 7. Speaker's/reader's voice, delivery, gesticulations, etc. is not so different that audience cannot correctly get the message being repeated or is confused by the repetition. 8.
