| REALITY TV Definition: Television shows that are based on real people (not actors) in real situations, presented as entertainment. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eleven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (see definition). 2. 'Actors' were auditioned and selected without undue influence. That is, no 'housemate' comes in to the show with a hidden agenda. 3. Coverage is 'no-holds barred'. That is, all the activities that take place are shown to the viewers. 4. No participant paid to feature in the show. And no economic exploitation of 'actors' by the producer, director, 'big brother', etc. (Connect to #2.) 5. 'Life' inside the show is not one that participant(s) cannot live or experience outside the 'studio', after conclusion of series (to emphasize). 6. A 'relationship' in the 'house', if any, should continue after the end of show. Or at least should not end immediately after a final live broadcast! 7. Nobody in the 'house' has an artificial body part (= prosthesis!). 8. Show is of benefit to a majority of the viewers (= public). That is, theme is educative and teaches, with possible positive lessons being learned. 9. The quality of recording is excellent. 10. (Reserved.)
