| RATIONALIZATION (2) Definition: (British English) The act or process of making changes to a business, system, etc. in order to make it more efficient, especially by spending less money. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (see definition). 2. Weaknesses and areas of wastage have been properly identified. 3. Act or process is authorized by the appropriate organ/official. 4. Methods and procedures adopted to effect changes will be the most sensible and profitable. 5. What will need to be done will not involve an illegality. 6. Commences timely and completed as planned to help maximize gain. 7. What is benefited from changes has a durability. That is, new improved state or status will remain for the period of time desired. 8. Efficiency achieved or productivity enhanced, and the money saved will be judiciously deployed and utilized.
