Racket abuse
RACKET ABUSE

Definition: The offence in tennis of throwing a racket or not using it correctly, considered to be unacceptable behaviour.

1. Purposeful, and necessary (?) (connect to #2).

2. Occurs 'timely', during a game (to emphasize).

3. Voluntarily committed. That is, not made in response to the opponents' action, but as a direct reaction to own 'non-performance'.

4. Act or action does not lead to an injury for player (= abuser) or opponent or ballboy/ballgirl or umpire/official(s) or spectator(s)!

5. Replacement or spares is/are available (where necessary).

6. No verbal abuse, gesticulation, curses or swearword(s) accompany the unacceptable behaviour.

7. Penalty that will be imposed for the offence - verbal warning, point reduction, etc. - will be effective.

8. No unplanned loss occurs to player as a direct result or outcome from the misuse of equipment. That is, action motivates player for better performance. In other words, abuse serves purpose(s), whether intended or not (connect to #3 & #6).

9. Equipment is not damaged, that is, racket can still be used during the particular game (connect to #5).
