| QUITTER (1) Definition: (often disapproving) A person who gives up easily and does not finish a task they have started: a shirker. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. * See perfect DREAM CHASER. 1. Does not set out with the intention to quit before completing task, even if there were nagging doubts in his or her mind. ______________________________ NO FAR-SIGHTEDNESS. 2. Will believe or think, very wrongly, at the point where decision to quit is made, that the best efforts have been put into endeavour, even if he/she quits at the first hurdle. (Yet could have done more!) ___________________________ NO DETERMINATION. 3. Cannot appreciate or make optimal use of an offer - encouragement, assistance, aid, etc. - to help continue and/or complete task, cannot be convinced about the inappropriateness of decision to refuse or reject, or misuse or misapplication of, external support. ___________________ NO INSIGHT. 4. Has no capacity to envisage the full benefit, advantage, gain, etc., if the task can just be completed, once the mind is made up to quit. Or does not really appreciate the gains that would have been secured on completion, even if he or she is privately wishing for some good. ____________________ NO DREAMS. 5. Will readily and easily find a scapegoat - a person or group, a rule or regulation, an event or a situation, etc. - for laziness or indolence, incompetence or inability, etc., in spite of having the wherewithal. ____________________ NO QUALMS. 6. Will return, 'safely', on throwing in the towel, to his or her previous comfort zone. That is, no discernible loss will be suffered, in person's opinion, as a result of discontinued effort. (But actual losses will be truly enormous, even if this will be realized only in the future!) ______________________ NO FORESIGHT. 7. (Even if expecting,) will get no applause or praise, commendation or recommendation, etc. for giving up, as it would have been possible to finish task successfully, ... only if willpower, real focus, and more concerted effort was brought to bear on task. ___________________________ * NEVER A WINNER !
