| QUICK THINKING Definition: (informal) A situation of giving instant consideration to an issue with the hope of achieving a desired result; quickness. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (connect to #2). 2. Necessary, vital. That is, there is a justification for thinking speedily; for example 'survival', progress, etc. depends on this. In other words, a decision must be made from the act of thinking. 3. Occasion or situation is not prepared for or rehearsed and/or the circumstances are not known beforehand. __________ NOW ! | ||

| 4. Time available to think and decide is limited (and ticking away!). 5. Thinking is done timely. That is, thought process starts early and concludes (= ends?) at the appropriate time (connect to #4). 6. Consequence of action that will result from not thinking or not thinking speedily is grave and/or monumental. (To emphasize.) 7. Thinking, however quick, is based on 'data' or information, whether this is complete or not; not on a 'spur-of-the-moment'. __________________ NOW! NOW!! further below the line 8.
