| BATTLE GROUP Definition: (military) A standing naval force consisting of an aircraft carrier, surface combatants and submarines as assigned in direct support, operating in mutual support with the task of destroying hostile forces on land or sea within the group's assigned responsibility. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (see definition). 2. Complete in respect of numbers and personnel. 3. Equipment and armaments will be functional and effective. 4.
