| PURITAN (1) Definition: (usually disapproving) A person who has very strict moral attitudes and who thinks that pleasure is bad. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Has a purpose and considers very strict morality and abstinence from pleasure a necessity. 2. Has personal no-go areas, code of conduct, etc. 3. Informs others, that might come in contact with him or her, early enough, of his or her dos and don'ts. 4. Selective or choosy about where he or she will be found. That is, will not be caught dead in a seedy or an illicit joint. And very careful about utterances and associations. 5. Does not hesitate or refrain from attacking or condemning whatever goes against belief, whoever or whatever perpetrates an immorality. 6. Will not exhibit an immoral or relaxed attitude, and engage in private pleasures, behind closed doors (to emphasize). 7. Always ever consistent. That is, will not reduce or condone or explain or tolerate an immorality. And will not contribute to, or encourage another in, the pursuit of pleasure. 8. Achieves objective(s), without a regret or an apology being rendered for strictness and self-control.
