| PUPILLAGE (2) Definition: (British English) A period during which a lawyer trains to become a barrister, by studying with a qualified barrister; the system which allows this training. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. * This is not about the system. 1. Purposeful and necessary (to emphasize, connect to #6). 2. Qualified barrister is in a well-established practice. That is, office is developed, cases in court are frequent, clients are varied, etc., etc. 3. Studies are intensive. That is, attitude, work rate, etc. of the 'trainee lawyer' are appropriate. In other words, trainee learns properly and fully. 4. Study will have a measurable and/or assessable outcome. And learning will be considered successful at the end of period. 5.
