Definition: The attention that is given to somebody/something by newspapers, television, etc.

1. Purposeful, in the opinion of the provider(s) (= press, publicist, publisher, etc.)

2. Attention is given timely, when it can help to achieve aim(s).

3. Attention is deserved, whether desired or not, whatever the measure or nature of attention received. (Not an overexposure!)

4. Not deliberately courted or solicited (or coverage paid for) by the subject/object of attention.

5. No negative or loss arises from the attention. That is, subject/object of focus benefited from attention showered on him/her/it.

6. Attention lasts for a duration planned or hoped for.

7. Attention being given is truthful. That is, pictures published are not manipulated, stories published are not baseless, etc.

8. The attention given achieves objective(s).
