| PUBLIC ENEMY Definition: A person who has done, or is believed to have done, a very bad thing, especially something that is harmful to society. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Person is known or suspected openly by the public. And the person knows that he/she is known or suspected! That is, enemy is specific and identifiable. ________________________________________________ ON A 'LEASH' OR ON THE RUN OR ON THE LOOSE ! 2. Person is alive (to emphasize, connect to #1). _______________________________________________ MALE OR FEMALE, YOUNG OR OLD, RICH OR POOR. 3. Thing (= harm) done is not justifiable by any stretch of the imagination. That is, a general consensus is that person deserves to be tagged the 'people's enemy'. ______________________________________________ AGAINST THE LAW, MORALITY, ENVIRONMENT OR ... . 4. Person has not shown remorse or asked for pardon. Or, where pardon has been requested, person has not been forgiven. ______________________________________________ WHATEVER THE OFFENCE, ... IT'S BEYOND BELIEF. 5. Harm caused has or will have a long-lasting effect on the people or society/environment. Or this person is still capable of repeating thing and/or causing more damage. And, or harm cannot be undone! _______________________________ 'BASTARD'/'BITCH'/'DEVIL'! 6. Person has not been caught or arrested. Or punishment being served or to be served, as applicable, is believed by the people not to be commensurate with the harm caused (connect to #7). _________________________________________________________________ WANTED OR YET-TO-BE 'MOST WANTED', AWAITING TRIAL OR CONVICT. 7. Person deserves the worst possible punishment, in the opinion of the public, even if envisaged sentence is not yet allowed by the law! ___________________ * ALWAYS 'No 1'. | |
