| PROTEST VOTE Definition: In an election, a vote against the party you usually support in order to show disapproval of something they are doing or planning to do. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to express dissatisfaction via ballot. (Connect to #2.) 2. Complaints, grumblings, misgivings, etc. were earlier openly stated to the appropriate party apparatchik or organ. 3. Intention would never be plainly or clearly disclosed before election/polling day. (Connect to #4.) 4. Vote or voting processes will not be annulled or invalidated later. 5. Party supported with vote will not do or plan to do what you disapprove (connect to #7). 6. The vote will be enough, be it just one, to have an impact on outcome of election, or to send message desired to party. 7.
