Protest vote
PROTEST VOTE

Definition: In an election, a vote against the party you usually support in order to show disapproval of something they are doing or planning to do.

1. Purposeful and necessary to express dissatisfaction via ballot. (Connect to #2.)

2. Complaints, grumblings, misgivings, etc. were earlier openly stated to the appropriate party apparatchik or organ.

3. Intention would never be plainly or clearly disclosed before election/polling day. (Connect to #4.)

4. Vote or voting processes will not be annulled or invalidated later.

5. Party supported with vote will not do or plan to do what you disapprove (connect to #7).

6. The vote will be enough, be it just one, to have an impact on outcome of election, or to send message desired to party.

7. Normal support and vote will be returned to party during the next election, whether purpose(s) is/are achieved or not. (To emphasize.)
