Baton charge
BATON CHARGE

Definition: (British) A baton charge is an attacking forward movement made by a large group of policemen carrying batons.

1. Purposeful and considered a necessity to advance on a crowd.

2. The policemen will all be appropriately 'dressed for battle'.

3. 'Advance to contact' will be ordered by head of the group.

4. Movement will be seemingly menacing to be a deterrent.

5. No loss will be suffered by the law-enforcement agents.

6. (Reserved.) (Group will have a back-up team, in case.)

7. Movement will not lead to physical contact with the 'mob'.

8. The group will be ready to repeat the advance, if the crowd - or a lynch mob - can regroup and threaten the peace again. (Connect to #6.)
