| PROMOTION (2) Definition: [ ~ (to something) ] A move by a sports team from playing in one group of teams to playing in a better group. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, whichever sport, league, season, etc. 2. Move will be earned on the field of play. That is, one or some of the point(s) that qualify team for promotion is not awarded in the 'boardroom'. In other words, 'political correctness' by the sports administrators will not be responsible for team's advancement. __________________ 3. No victory or victories was/were obtained in the course of campaign through match-fixing, walkover(s)/disqualification(s) or some bye(s), etc. 4. Team moves or moved up with some or a majority of the members that wins or won it promotion. __________________ 5. Movement to a higher grouping (= promotion) was earned 'timely', with games and/or time to spare, as applicable. 6. Newly promoted team gives a good account of itself in the superior or better group. That is, team does not get relegated at the earliest or next occasion (connect to #7). 7. Promotion to a better group serves purpose(s). __________________ | |
