Definitions:

i. A speech, etc. at the beginning of a play, book, or film/movie that introduces it.

ii. A speech or section of text that introduces a play or book.

1. Considered purposeful and necessary to have introduction.

2. Concise and direct; detailed enough to be interesting.

3. Speech is confidently delivered or print clearly produced. That is, what is said will be audible and understandable, the writing or a 'write-up' will be readable and convincing.

4. Does not contain any useful hint on the ending, or serious clues about the storyline.

5. Length of speech or text will be considered adequate - not too brief and not too long, without verbosity or ... (Connect to #4 & #6.)

6. Whets the appetite! (To emphasize.) That is, serves purpose(s).
