| PROFITEERING Definition: (disapproving) The act of making a lot of money in an unfair way, for example by asking very high prices for things that are hard to get. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, for profiteer to maximize the opportunity (read: to satisfy greed!). 2. What is sold or traded in is not illegal. That is, product or service from which megabucks is made is not prohibited by law. __________________ 3. No force or threat or blackmail is employed in the transaction. 4. Object of trading is the 'real deal'. That is, item is not presented as another item of a higher, superior or better quality. __________________ 5. Scarcity is not artificial, that is, trader or seller is not directly or indirectly responsible for the situation. 6. Money earned (= profit) is judiciously used. That is, loads of money serves some purpose(s) - for the greedy person. __________________ 7. Taxes, duties, etc. due to be paid on money have been paid (to emphasize). 8.
