| PRODUCT LINE Definition: (business) A group of related products produced by one manufacturer, for example products that are intended to be used for similar purposes or to be sold in similar types of shops. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to have and treat products as a group. 2. Products are clearly complementary to one another - not standbys! And the shops, where products are displayed for sale, are in an established franchise - not in some hawkers' barrows. 3. Production fulfils all necessary legal requirements. That is, appropriate returns, taxes, etc. were paid on goods. There will be no likelihood of a ban on goods or raid on shops. 4. Products' standards meet with the best practices. That is, individual items in group were manufactured under the highest quality control regime. And production processes caused no destruction to the environment or an ecosystem. 5. Each product in group is profitable. That is, an assured substantial revenue stream is available from every item in the set of related goods or service. In other words, all the products have their respective unique selling points. 6. Quantity of products will always be adequate. That is, no gap will be made or created in 'the line' as a direct result of a shortage or lack of any particular product.
