PRODIGALITY (1)

Definition: The situation of being too willing to spend money carelessly or waste time, energy or materials.

1. There will be no deep appreciation of the value or worth of material resources (= money, time, energy, etc.).

2. There will be no consideration of the likely fallout of wastage or carelessness. Therefore, there will be no realization of the need to conserve, save, manage, etc.

3. There will be no assurance, in situation, of the availability of spares, a war chest, reserve, etc.

4. No excuse or justification can be provided for 'stupidity'. That is, prodigal person has 'miles to go' (= not about to die soon), is not without an onus (= has duties to perform with assets), etc.

5. Unreasonableness, short-sightedness, thoughtlessness, etc. will not be denied. That is, person will be fully aware that expenditure or expenses is/are generally senseless.

6. (Reserved.) (Extreme and careless willingness will be regretted when hard times arrive. That is, a real pain will be felt, from the absence of thrift, during a following stringent or austere season.)
