Definition: (British English) A person who introduces the different sections of a radio or television programme.

1. Purposeful and necessary.

2. Person is an employee or is appropriately engaged and on duty (or authorized to present the show).

3. Person is prepared and in the right frame of mind before the start of presentation.

4. Person has an idea of the subject matter - from a 'preview' or study or experience or ... (connect to #3).

5. Presentation is top-class. That is, person makes an excellent opening introduction, announces his or her names, is articulate in speech, offers superb closing remarks (if applicable), etc. In other words, on-air performance is 'A grade', in the opinion of listeners/viewers.

6. Dressing, posture, movement, gesticulations, etc. are all appropriate, especially if presenter is a telecaster. (Connect to #5.)
