PRESENTEEISM

Definition: (British English) The practice of spending more time at your work than you need to according to your contract.

1. Purposeful, even if known by only you.

2. Considered a necessity. That is, you believe that it is important to spend more time at work. That is, stay is of your own volition, whether happily or unhappily.

4. Work is done and properly too - however little.

5. Nothing exciting or challenging or beneficial to go 'home' to (or to leave work quickly for, after closing hours), to be honest.

6. Situation happens often, not seldom. That is, stay back is not in any way excusable, if a need for justification arises.

7. No promotion, bonus, perks, etc. at work because of those 'extra' hours spent back working.
