PREPAREDNESS (1)

Definition: [ ~ to do something ] (formal) The state of being ready or willing to do something.

1. Purposeful - the readiness, not necessarily the thing that will be done (to emphasize).

2. Thing to do is specific and identifiable: known. Timing, place, method of doing thing, etc. are also known.

4. Everything necessary to enable the thing to be done is in place:

5. There is a presence of mind. That is, person claiming readiness or willingness is not preoccupied or in a distracted state.

7. Readiness or willingness is of the person's freewill, not the result of a threat or force or through the instrumentality of the law! (Connect to #3.)

8. There is an expectation and/or anticipation. That is, the thing to do is still there to do, and is looked forward to being done.

9. There is a realization or awareness of the possibility of failure, absence, or an emergency. And a provision (= preparedness!), if possible, is made for this/these.
