| BASTION (1) Definition: (formal) A group of people or a system that protects a way of life or a belief when it seems that it may disappear. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Persons in group or system are practising particular lifestyle or propagating specific ideas. 2. Group or system is willing, able or capable and ready to defend position. That is, an ability will be possessed to make the required sacrifice and pay a necessary price in furtherance of stance. 3. Persons in group will do everything to stay alive or system will undergo any review, reform or alteration to be relevant and legal. That is, persons or system will do all that may be required to keep pace with modernity, as much as possible, without suffering major dislocations or losses. 4. Encourages, announces, promotes, and if necessary, exaggerates the positive qualities of 'the brand' - the goodness in what is being protected. 5. Group or system will not expose itself to risk or danger. That is, will not show its underbelly that could lead to the likelihood of an attack by forces against it. 6. People pass the knowledge, experience, etc. possessed onto likely successors - heir apparent, offspring, etc. - or system is able to ensure the transfer of strategies, tactics, methodologies, etc. to the offshoots, 'follow-ups', etc. 7. (Reserved.) (Persons in group will insist on and accept the sole responsibility of dismantling or ending way or life, especially where this becomes inevitable.) 8.
