| POWER BASE Definitions: i. The area or the people that provide the main support for a politician or a political party. ii. The power base of a politician or other leader is the area or the group of people from which they get most support, and which enables him or her to become powerful. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and vital to have area with people or group of people. 2. Politician or political party would have established a solid basis for the trust and hope placed on him/her/it, either from a past performance or accomplishment, or a pedigree, or some present realities or reliance on a future promise. 3. Inhabitants of area or members of group will be adequate in their numbers for the purpose(s) needed - not reducing in population. 4. Regular and constant communication, contact, consultation, etc. will be established and sustained between politician or political party and the particular people providing support. 5. Sustenance and consistency of support will be assured as long as politician or political party does not change character or manifesto. 6.
