| POTSHOT Definition: (informal) A shot that somebody fires without aiming carefully. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary - the shot and the carelessness! (Connect to #2.) 2. Deliberate. That is, person can be steady before aiming. In other words, firer is in the right frame of mind and in excellent health at the time of firing shot. __________________ 3. The proper direction is where the weapon is pointed (= aimed?) at. That is, target(s) is/are the right person(s) or object(s). 4. No collateral damage results from the shot. And no injury to firer from the carelessness. __________________ 5. Bullet, etc. is not the last, except there is an intention to expend all the available bullets, etc. (connect to #6). 6. Target is/was 'hit', even if this is/was not planned or even if a shout or warning is/was given (connect to #7). __________________ 7. Shot serves purpose(s) as exactly hoped for - fright, 'abrasion', warning, kill, etc. 8. No punishment or sanction is served or suffered, by firer for being 'careless'.
