| POLITICIZATION (1) Definition: The act of making something a political issue. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful for the person(s) politicizing an (the) issue. 2. Considered a necessity. That is, done deliberately after it has been deemed vital to bring issue into the political arena. ________ 3. Matter is not ordinarily a political issue (to emphasize). 4. Thing is brought to the public domain, not discussed or kept in confined 'arenas'. That is, issue is not talked about only privately. (Connect to #2.) ________ 5. Public awareness of the issue is created by the person(s) or the party/parties politicizing issue - at whatever cost. 6. Matter is generally, usually a contentious one. That is, a consensus is hardly obtainable on the issue. ________ 7. Act serves purpose(s) as hoped for. That is, issue will be fully discussed and may be resolved, one way or the other. 8.
