| POLE-VAULTING Definition: The sport of jumping over a high bar, using a long pole to push off the ground. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for pole-vaulter! 2. Bar is of appropriate length and well positioned. That is, poles between which the bar is placed are spacious enough to not cause a problem for pole-vaulter. 3. (Reserved.) (An encouragement by way of a 'synchronized applause' or some 'mechanical clap' or 'pep rally' takes place before attempt!) __________________ 4. Pole used to push off the ground is approved by the sport's governing body. That is, does not ordinarily break in the process. 5. Facilities - 'landing pad', lead-up track, pitch, etc. are in excellent conditions. __________________ 6. No injury to sportsperson from the pole or in the process of trying to jump over bar or after jump - failed or successful (connect to #4). 7. No injury to official(s), if any, as a direct outcome of the activity. 8.
