| POINT-BLANK RANGE Definitions: i. (at point-blank range) Being fired at with the gun touching or very close to the person or thing it is aimed at. ii. (usually - at point-blank range) If someone is shot at point-blank range, they are shot from a very short distance away. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for firer(s) to be very near or close. 2. A justification can be made in the situation (where required). 3. There will be a certainty about who or what the target is/was. 4. No unplanned loss will be suffered by firer from being very near. 5. Closeness won't be deemed to be inhumane or illegal (or cowardly!). 6. Target is not wearing protective armour or bullet-proof clothing. 7. Bullet or pellet hits the right organ or part of person or thing. 8. Shot does not pierce through to cause collateral damage, unless ... 9.
