Point duty
POINT DUTY

Definition: (British English) The job of controlling traffic that is done by a police officer standing in the middle of the road.

5. Road users (= drivers, riders, pedestrians, etc.) obey the policeman. That is, no accident or pile-ups, etc. occur at duty spot. In other words, no injury to road users and/or policeman at this place and serves purpose(s) for as long as he or she is at spot.
