Plaintiff
PLAINTIFF

Definition: (British English) (law) A person who makes a formal complaint against somebody in court.

* All nine elements should be in.


1. Person has some purpose(s) and considers it necessary to complain.

2. Complaint is entertained in court. That is, person is not dismissed for lacking solid ground (= a locus standi).

3. Accusation or accusations, whether true or false, made against another, is/are specific and identifiable, and assessable.

4. Complaint is justiciable. That is, matter is real or realistic and can therefore be looked into (connect to #3).

7. Person will accept the court's decision or ruling, even if he or she is to proceed on an appeal. That is, complainant never takes the law into own hands, especially when not (initially) favoured by outcome of suit.
