| PIQUE (1) Definition: (formal) Annoyed or bitter feelings that you have, usually because your pride has been hurt. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements would be in. 1. Hurt was undeserved in your opinion. 2. Your sensibilities have become dangerously high as a direct outcome of the hurt (to emphasize). 3. You lost something - reputation, confidence, standing, etc. - from the wounded pride. __________________ 4. Feelings lasts for an unnecessarily long period, in your estimation. 5. Loss is 'irrecoverable', or what is 'broken' cannot be mended (connect to #3). 6. No apology or sign of remorse from the cause or source of annoyance or bitterness. __________________ 7. No chance, where there is a desire, to pay back the hurt, if possible. That is, you cannot revenge! 8.
